If Larry Ellison said it, I can too

I am sooo relieved I’m not the only one who thinks this latest technojargon “cloud computing” is stupid.

It has no defined meaning.

People who use it want to sound intelligent but no one is talking about that same thing.

We had perfectly good words before that differentiated what the heck we were actually talking about. Why don’t we go back to talking like that?

“We should investigate hosting this application with a vendor.”

“Can this application run elsewhere while we access it through a thin client?”

“The website says this application is a pay-for service we could access through our browser.”

“Our SAN is costing us to much. Can we do better purchasing off-site storage for our organization from a vendor?”

Puh-lease stop saying “cloud this” and “cloud that.” It sounds stupid.
