stopWebCTServer.sh FORCESTOP

Recognize the command above? Does anyone NOT have to use the FORCESTOP on your application cluster ?Do the sessions on the node being shut down failover sweetly to other nodes while you take one node at a time down for maintenance?.. I thought not.

If we do a stopWebCTServer without the FORCESTOP parameter… the node never shuts down (well, okay, we’ve never tested beyond 40 minutes, but we’ve never had more than 10’s of user sessions to fail over during test either..). When we first discovered this, and each subsequent time this feature would come in handy, I’ve felt like…

    You can also use .webCT.sh forcestop. Less typing:) Actually webCT.sh is called when you type stopWebCTServer.sh
